Cool Cherry Cream

They've been filming some movie or something around here the past few days and I really wanted to go check it out, but no one would go with me.

Tonight somewhere around 8:30 I guess, I went down a couple streets with my mom and dad and they were filming. My dad was talking to one of the cops there and he said the movie's called "Citizen Duane".

It was pretty sad. They had a scene less than a minute long and they would take 20 minutes to set up each time. But I guess that's how the biz is. It didn't turn me off from acting, but if I go to a bunch more of these it might. It might not.

Basically, from what I can understand, there's a dude named Duane Balfour or something, played by some dude named Doug, and he's running for mayor of Ridgeway or something like that. And he has this "vote for me" sign on his drug-doing friend's front lawn and next door they have a "re-elect Kim something or other" sign.

So they do this little dialogue thing that I couldn't really hear since they weren't that loud, and then the friend gives Duane a bottle of alcohol and Duane walks off and drinks the alcohol. His friend says "keep your chin up!" or something and then Duane makes this motion back to him. Then his friend calls out various phrases "I still love ya man!", "Chicks think you're hot!" or whatever. Which I thought was odd, because he said something different almost every time. So then Duane just walks off drinking. The end.

Not too exciting, and the people weren't anyone famous. I was hoping it was that Johnny Was thing with Roger Daltrey, but oh well. Even if it was I didn't have a pen or anything for him to sign.

So yeah. My first experience with a movie type Hollywood thing in Canada. How cool.
