Today certainly was interesting.
Well, not interesting as in Paul McCartney came to my school and told me that I was going to have a private concert. Not interesting as in aliens attacked our school. A little more interesting than watching paint dry, though.
I went to History class and it was pretty much like any other day. I read a bit about the Townshend Acts, and that was probably the coolest part. Ha, I laugh at the kids in my class. They were discussing birth dates and they felt sorry for the girl born on December 30. HAH! I've got her beat. And why would you feel sorry for someone who shares a birth date with Mike Nesmith and Davy Jones? I ask you. Feel sorry for the girl who shares the birthday with that dude from New Kids On The Block.
So next was Communications. I still don't have my log-in/password, so that sucks. And there aren't enough computers for everyone in the class. I don't like working in groups. I have nothing against the girl I'm working with, but I'd still rather do it on my own. We're supposed to put together a little scene with sound effects and then do a paragraph describing it, and she wanted to do a murder scene type thing, which is fine with me, whatever. But I mean, if I was doing it on my own, I would pick something like… the world being taken over by aliens. Because that would make for an interesting scene.
Then we all go outside to walk 1km for the Terry Fox Day thing. In the pouring rain. Me, I did not complain. I like rain. I was not in pain. I stayed completely sane. Yeah, this is getting lame. And I know that didn't rhyme. But yeah, I would've walked a few more kilometres, but no one else really wanted to. I didn't want to look like a nerd, out there all by myself. And I wanted a hot dog. So I went in and met Jada and went and got hot dogs and drinks and chips in the cafeteria, then went back in the gallery to sit with Kristen.
So I'm finishing up my hot dog, when someone goes by and says "hi" to me, so I say "hi" back, then look up and realize… that's Amy! Amy's a girl I used to go to school with in middle school and we were really good friends, along with Michelle and Patty. And we hadn't talked for about 2 years, except for maybe once or twice on MSN. So I was just "whoa". But yeah, awesome. That's pretty cool. It's a little strange since I haven't seen her in so long, but we'll probably get back to normal soon.
Then I went to French and there were only 4 other people there, Michelle, Jada, Kenny, and Brandolyn. So we went over to my grade 10 French teacher's room and watched this movie we saw last year, Frantic. My personal favourite part was when the dude says he's from San Francisco, then the other dude starts singing: "If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair…". I was going to burst laughing last year, but I don't think anyone else really got it. Ah, me and my old songs.
During the movie, Jada and I took turns writing a comic. It was basically Ringo Starr and Jada and I were in the yellow submarine with the other cardboard Beatles and the talking picture of Jerry Lee Lewis and Super Apple. It was pretty strange. But anything that I take part in creating obviously will be strange.
So then guitar class. It's getting pretty boring. I tried to figure out how to play the Jeopardy! theme and I'm Henry The VIII I Am, but quit half way through each. Bleh. I hope we learn something a little more interesting than the scale next week.
Finally, school was over, so I walked home with Michelle and Amy because Kristen had to leave for work and she didn't want to be late.
And that's about all that's happened today.
I'm not looking forward to my drum lesson tomorrow. I don't practice at all through the week. I've not even looked at the last sheet he gave me. It's kind of boring, since I'm just learning more patterns. I'd like to learn some songs. I really didn't like it last week because I spent most of the time on two patterns that I wasn't doing to well on. And I don't like not being able to do things.
Man, I'm looking at celebrity birthday things. I should have been born on December 30. Del Shannon, Jeff Lynne… ah wait, but I get Bebe Neuwirth. I knew I knew that name! Cheers. Ah yes. I haven't watched that in quite a bit. I like watching 80s/90s TV shows. Back when TV was good. Although I can't say that TV is bad now. Because there are three shows that have awesome theme songs. :D Even if they are like, totally shortened. I was watching CSI the other day, and really, you couldn't have a better theme song for that show than "Who Are You?". Really.
