About Me

  • My name is Jenny and I'm a first year university student studying computer science. I'm really awesome.

I'm listening to "Love" by John Lennon. There's no music for the first 30 seconds or so. As soon as the music started up, the rain started outside. I found that rather amusing.

I've read the second chapter of "The Boy Who Heard Music". Pete posted it early because someone found the second chapter by changing the address. I hope he didn't upload the other chapters already, because they could have found them as well. :S

I'm probably going to have to read both chapters again, since I know I've probably missed quite a bit of little details. I'm not a very good reader, I tend to skip over a lot, especially descriptions.

I didn't post any comments this time because I'm not a good comment person, either. There are only some things I can critique, like graphics. I don't know writing, so I can't critique writing. I also could go on forever about how I can't critique music or movies or actors, but I've probably already mentioned it several times. I have reviews of some Who albums on my Whiskey Man site, but it's really just me saying "John sounds so cute at this bit!", not really reviewing. Because I don't know how to review.

Today I discovered the wonderful world of stenciling. I clicked on the little "Site Meter" at the bottom of TBWHM blog and click on Referrers and found someone's Live Journal who had linked to Pete's blog. And on their friend's page was a post in a stencilling community.

It's funny how I stumble upon certain sites. I tend to follow a long path of links on weekends and end up somewhere I had never even knew existed.

The other day I was trying to find out who wrote "Girl" (the song Davy Jones does in The Brady Bunch) and ended up on some Brady Bunch sites. There was an interview with Sherwood Schwartz's daughter or something, and she had a story about how she met Ringo and George and married Paul's guitarist. Or something.

I once stumbled upon the 1 Second Movie. It's basically one second of these pictures all shown really quickly, then 59 minutes and 59 seconds of credits. Why are the credits so long, you ask? Because people can donate money to a cause and get their name up on the big screen. That's the whole purpose behind it, I suppose. Making money for a cause I mean, not seeing your name, although I have to admit, that would be cool. During the credits they have a little making of thing at the side and there's all this big actors and people involved with it who are in it.

I also once found a site with all these theme songs of old TV Shows. Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, Care Bears, it was pretty cool. Ah yes, that was the day I was reading all about Ghostwriter. That was a great show.

Wikipedia is a great place to spend the day. You can go search for something that interests you, your favourite band, TV show, movie, person, whatever. Chances are, if you're like me, you'll probably know most of the information in the article. But then there are links throughout the article to other articles. You may know a lot about The Monkees, but you click on Mike Nesmith's name to learn that his mother invented White Out! Then you go learn all about White Out, then painting, and it just goes on forever.

Anyway, what was my point?

Stencilling.

My mom used to work in a little kiosk in the mall doing stencilling on T-Shirts and stuff, and that's where she met my dad. I could tell you all about their life story and stuff, but I don't think they'd appreciate that. And I'm sure you don't care. But you must care, if you're still here.

Stencilling, stencilling.

So yeah, I'm working on this picture of Pete doing a windmill and trying to turn it into a stencil. Then I'll ask my mom to help me put it on a shirt, and I might post the results here. Don't expect it anytime soon though. I tend to say I'll do things. And I do do them, but it takes me a few months.

Like I told someone I would post my Monkees computer game on my site and I'd post pictures of my room. And I'm sure a lot of other things. The game is kind of, well, stupid. My room is kind of, well, messy.

Anyway, I should probably work on my homework. :)
