About Me

  • My name is Jenny and I'm a first year university student studying computer science. I'm really awesome.

Well, so far I've accomplished nothing on my previous list. I watched North and South. And did nothing. Whoop dee doo.

I'm probably going to go to bed now so that I'll be able to wake up in time to watch Charles in Charge and practice drums a bit.

But man, my History thing has to be FIVE WHOLE MINUTES LONG. Well, I can tell you right now, there's five marks I'm not getting.

And isn't it like ten marks for the party platform? I haven't found out too much about that. I can't really go into detail on them. So I'll probably lose at least another five marks.

I've got quite a bit of information on what my president did in the past. But again, nothing in depth.

Well, hopefully I'll get full marks for attire. :)

Hmm, do these short entries bore you? They certainly bore me.

I've been meaning to do an entry about something lately.

Oh yeah, choices.

Now, I'm sure no one's gotten a locker at school yet, correct? I mean, November, that's much too early. Everyone likes to carry around their backpacks and winter coats. You don't need a locker yet, you can wait patiently.

Choosing a locker is very important matter.

For the past three years of my high school career, I have been fortunate enough to not have a locker partner. I have also been fortunate enough to have only one neighbour each year.

Locker location. You must consider where your classes are. And not just first semester, you have to think ahead, plan for your future. You obviously don't want a locker in the art hall if you aren't taking any art classes. It would be very inconvenient.

Last year my locker was right beside the bathroom. At first I thought it might be very smelly. But it wasn't at all. It was the girls bathroom, after all. If it was the boys, it would've been another story.

Advantages to having your locker next to the bathroom. As most people would assume, you don't have to go downstairs or upstairs or on the other side of the school to go to the bathroom. Good at those times when you really have to go. If you're new to the school, it's always good to know where a bathroom is. And being right beside one gives you a good idea of where to find it.

However, one thing I never realized about being next to a bathroom… it's rather funny at times. Our school is full of people who like to vandalize the bathrooms. So I often found there would be a sign on the door saying the bathroom is closed. And yet, people still try to get it! People push the door and then groan when they realize it isn't open. Some will push really hard or kick the door. And then run away quickly to find another bathroom.

If you are forgetful or have a hard time remembering your locker's number, it's best to get a locker at the end of a row. That way it's much easier to find, and you probably won't get people asking you why you're trying to get into their locker.

Also, at the end or beginning of a row, you will only have one neighbour.

Now, to determine whether you should get a locker at the beginning (with lockers to the right) or the end (lockers to the left) you must first determine whether or not you are polite.

If you are not polite and you like to open your locker wide, then either one is fine for you, because you don't care if you open your locker too wide and get into the other people's space.

If you are polite and you like to open your locker wide, you'll want to be at the end. That way, you can open you locker as much as you want with no worries, because no one is to the right of you.

However, you also have to consider who your neighbour will be. If you are at the end, you risk having someone opening their locker wide, preventing you from getting to yours. If your neighbour is polite, then you have a perfect spot. No worries about disturbing anyone else by opening your locker and no worries about someone disturbing you.

If you are at the beginning and like to open your locker wide, you'll have to hope the person beside you is very passive and lets you do this without saying anything. Though secretly, they may dread every time they have to go to their locker. Because of YOU. So be careful that you aren't actually driving this person mad.

Lockers in the middle. Awful. You can open your locker on someone else and get one opened on you. No advantages.

And before selecting your locker, check out how the previous owner decorated. Make sure you've got all your hooks and shelves. Don't pick a locker with rude words or old Spice Girls gum stickers inside. Or if you happen to get stuck with one of these, cover it up with your own pictures.

Alright, now that THAT'S out of the way, let's talk about classes.

Hard classes in the morning > good for nerds
Advantages: if you're a nerd, you can finish homework for these classes at lunch

Hard classes in the afternoon > good for bad kids who don't do their homework
Advantages: you can finish your homework at lunch and not get in trouble

Morning Class
Disadvantages: you just woke up, you're tired and can't focus

Class Before Lunch
Disadvantages: you haven't eaten since breakfast, you're hungry and can't focus

Class After Lunch
Disadvantages: none!

Last Class
Disadvantages: you want to go home and can't focus

Therefore, the best time for going to school is after lunch. You should never go to classes otherwise because you won't be able to focus.

Next topic… presentations. Ah, public speaking, scary. Charles' biggest fear, you know.

Going First
Advantages: you get it over with, you can sit back and enjoy all the other presentations, you set the standard for the other presentations

Going Second, Third, etc
Advantages: you get to see how other people did the project and are assured you did it correctly (or did it incorrectly and will totally fail if you present)
Disadvantages: if the presentation before yours was really good, you'll look really bad

Going Last
Advantages: you may get an extra day to work on your project if you run out of class time to present
Disadvantages: you were nervous the whole class, wondering if you were going to go next

Next. Where should you eat at lunch?

Cafeteria
Advantages: you get a table on which you can do homework, doodle, play games, etc

Outside
Advantages: you can watch people doing things other than eating

Yeah. That's all I got.

So consider your options concerning these very important matters. All involving school, ironically. Well, not ironically, since I planned it that way.

Sorry. This post has probably been rather unintelligible. Because it's 2:00 and I'm tired and I was going to go to sleep an hour ago before YOU so RUDELY made me type out this post. Thanks a lot.
