So. Last day of school. For this year. Not this school year. This year as in 2005. Tricky, huh?
Anyway, it really didn't feel like the last day. Yesterday felt like the last day. But then I woke up all disappointed this morning because I still had to go another day. Only have the day, but I still had to wake up.
In Communications, Brittany and I worked on our brochure. Which is good. It's coming along nicely. I'm afraid we won't get the video done in the short time we have when we come back, though.
In History, we watched a movie. Not too exciting.
I'd previously told my dad to pick me up at 12:00 so I wouldn't have to carry my guitar home. Well, on my back, so technically I'd have to carry my backpack, but that's besides the point. I then realized when I was talking to Kristen that we got out at 12:45! So, I decided I'd call my dad and tell him. But, then I realized I didn't have a quarter. As I was walking to Communications after I was at Jada's locker, I noticed that the pop machines cost $1.75. And, as luck would have it, I had a toonie. So I decided that I'd get a pop during "nutrition break" and then use my quarter to call home.
Ah, but not that simple. Ever so clever Jada suggests I just put in the toonie and press the "change" button so I get the change and don't have to get a pop. So, I do as she suggests and… no change. I press the buttons for a drink… no drink. Thanks Jada, thanks a lot. Nerd. :P
Well, Jada may be a nerd, but she's ever so generous and let me use her cell phone. So I called and all worked out fine.
Today there was a banquet thing for anyone in a music class. I *could've* gone, but I'm not really a food person, you know. I'm not too into that whole eating thing. But anyway, I noticed earlier that they were in the guitar room for the feast thing. I figured they'd be done at the end of break.
But no. They wanted to complicate it for me. They stuck around all afternoon. Luckily, Alyssa came to class as well, so I wasn't alone. The teacher said he didn't think anyone would come! Haha. So he let us play Shout About Movies in the music room. And brought cupcakes, heh. Some other people came and left every once and awhile. I was pretty awful at the Movies game. Much better at music and TV.
Then French. The teacher gave me back my report I did the other day and told me what to correct. Then Jada and John and I played "The Dot Game". I won. Haha. I'm so cool. Then Jada went to the office and John and I played Tic Tac Toe and he explained how to win every time. I used to know how to do it, but, you know, I don't have much time to practice my tic tac toe skills. Then Jada came back and we played Hangman with Tobias.
And then we went home. Yay.
I got my picture taken for my health card since I'm going to be sixteen soon. :)
You know, sixteen. That's the age I've always wanted to be. Sixteen is *the* year. I don't know why. My mom tells me I absolutely loved being three (which is my favourite numebr :)), but I seem to remember always wanting to be sixteen. I guess because I thought that's the year you get to do everything. Drive, casino, lottery, drink, whatever (and actually, you can't do all those things I realized). Not that I wanted to drink when I was little, but I mean, it's a sort of growing up type thing. Just that you're allowed to do it.
I mean, sixteen. That's the age of the teenager. Thirteen is when you become a teen, but when I think of a teenager, I think of sixteen.
I think it's a superficial sort of association. Sixteen is when you're grown up and beautiful and intelligent. I don't know. There was probably some character in a book or show that I loved that was sixteen.
And then you've got the songs. Sixteen Candles. Sweet Little Sixteen. Etc etc.
Speaking of songs, here's my sixteen playlist. Which actually doesn't exist, but if I had a sixteen playlist, these songs would be on it:
01. Birthday - The Beatles
02. Sweet Little Sixteen - The Beatles
03. Happy Birthday To You - The Monkees
04. Sweet Little Sixteen - John Lennon
05. You're Sixteen - Ringo Starr
Wow. That's a short list. I suppose if I really wanted to make it longer, I could add "When I'm Sixty Four", "Yes, I'm Your Angel", and "Randy Scouse Git". But they aren't really all that birthday-ish.
Hey, wow… is Mike turning 64 this year? I don't know, I'm awful at figuring out things like that.
Oh, but he doesn't keep track of age or something. I don't know, I don't understand religious stuff.
Actually, 1921 could fit, seeing as my birthday is on New Year's Eve. And Happy Xmas could kind of fit, you know with "a new year just begun"… although, the year hasn't really begun on my birthday.
7:01. What a stupid time to be born. That's probably why I am how I am. Obsessive compulsive ish. It could've just been 7:00, but no. 7:05 even would be better. 5:15 would be ideal, though I wouldn't have realized it until this year. 9:05 too, while a better song (well, actually I haven't really listened to 5:15 much, and 905 is only a better song in my opinion) not technically a time. Oh well.
Anyway. Right now I'm writing this blog. But I was doing major maintainence to my forums before I so rudely interrupted myself. So I should probably get back to that. Ta ta.
