About Me

  • My name is Jenny and I'm a first year university student studying computer science. I'm really awesome.

English class. Ugh. I've got to read. Can you believe it? A good book. A*good* book. She gave us a list (a quite a long one) of authors. We could only pick an author on that list. I was disappointed. Pete Townshend wasn't there.

Anyway. A few of them intrigued me. Pride and Prejudice for example.

"Hey! My mom knows that book! She can explain it to me! SCOOORE!"

And then the other ones she mentioned were weird and about crazy people. "Weird but good" she said for a few. As I was re-going through the list I decided weird may mean hard. I mean, even an English teacher can't make sense of these books! But then it may be a little more open for interpretation. Heh, I had a question in Science last year about some guy and how did he survive a car crash? My answer?

"He was a robot."

Seriously.

Seriously.

We didn't have to hand it in though, thankfully.

But anyway, in the end, I crossed out the weird ones.

The long ones and the philisophical ones were the first ones crossed out though.

And the non American and British ones. I mean. I don't know. I'm just not into cultural things. And the book we're reading now, Things Fall Apart, it's African, and they have a lot of strange African words in it. I mean, English is bad enough, don't bring other languages into it!

There were a few about crazy people. I was intrigued. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. I'll probably pick that one. And there's a movie I can watch. Good.

Though I was reading about the movie on Wikipedia and I learned that some chick in the crazy movie beat out Ann Margret in Tommy for best actress! So that made me a little sad. :(

So, I forget my list at school. So I couldn't decide which book I want this weekend. So I started searching for top 100 lists and what not. And I happened along Doug Shaw's site.

I hate it when I stumble upon sites. Especially big sites. With lots of writing. And odd link phrases and page titles. Because then I just open up a whole bunch of 'em and sit at my computer for hours reading some person's website!

Okay. Actually, I love it. :)

Here's one particular quote from Doug's site that I liked:

Think of the millions of Harrison fans who got NO letter. Somehow, they manage to get through their pathetic, grotty little lives. One miserable day at a time - check mailbox, no letter from George, go to work, come home, check mailbox, no letter from George, cook dinner.

Well, that's enough writing for today. I've got to go check my mail…
