About Me

  • My name is Jenny and I'm a first year university student studying computer science. I'm really awesome.

Did some work on the ol' rock opera, which I haven't done in, well, forever!

I asked my brother to write me a rockin' guitar solo, because I can't write those. But what I actually meant was a riff. But I wrote one of those. Accidentally. And it sounds pretty cool.

But you see, I previously had only an acoustic guitar and drums. Well, and vocals, but those are basically complete rubbish. Today I decided I need some style added to the drum part, so I added a bunch of CRASH CYMBALS and some snare fills! It sounds a lot better now. :)

So anyway, back to the riff. I added the riff, but since I already have a guitar part (which surprisingly sounds okay with the riff, up until the second part), I made it a bass riff. But since I don't play bass, I don't know if it's really "right", so I'll have to have my brother check it out.

But if I keep it as guitar, then it sounds kinda surfy like. And I want the rock opera to have a whole bunch of style, you know? And I've always wanted to write a surf sounding song, so why throw one away when I've got it, y'know?

But I'm still stuck on the vocals. I borrowed the vocal and rhythm guitar from a song I wrote in guitar class, but it doesn't really fit.

And my brother refuses to help me if I don't change the name.

I think it's a clever name. It's long and strange. Like Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. And that's how I want it to be. Long and strange.

And it does fit what I'm writing about. And it took me a long time to come up with the name. I can recall a few times walking home and trying to make an acronym that means something out of the name or whatever.

Well, enough about that. I was watching this video I downloaded, Tommy Beat Club Special, or something like that. It's just The Who performing some songs from Tommy, I suppose, at the Beat Club. But they aren't singing, just miming, so that kinda sucks.

But man, near the end, they play TOMMY'S HOLIDAY CAMP! With Keith standing up front singing! And Roger on the drums! Oh man, it was great. I looked like Keith felt kind of awkward up there all alone, you know? Like he needed his drums.

And did he not make a comment to Ringo in "The Kids Are Alright" about how "the little singer" stood up there with only the microphone to protect him? Because back with the drums you've got the cymbals and the whole barrier around you. He just didn't look at home up there.

But yeah, pretty cool. Yep yep.

I was watching a video with John playing 5:15. "Man," I thought, "I can't wait to see them live!"… :(

Really should be working on my English essay. Got the body paragraphs and the intro done. But it's just those conclusions. I probably could do it, but I just keep putting it off, and putting it off. Concluding paragraphs rank way up there with my brother on the annoying things list.
