Just got back from seeing The DaVinci Code. Lots of things are being said about this movie. And here's my say.
It was entertaining. And is that not the point of movies? Mission accomplished. And that is that!
I suppose I'm currently Agnostic. Not an Atheist. But also not Christian, Catholic, whatever else that believe in god or gods. Agnostics basically believe that there could be a god, but we cannot and do not know for sure. I did type out a post awhile ago about considering finding a religion, but I'm probably going to need to revise it a bit.
This movie kind of turned me off in my search of finding a religion. But this was no fault of the movie, Dan Brown, Tom Hanks, anybody. It's because of the audience.
As always, after seeing a movie, I check out the IMDB message board, trivia, and what not. The boards are moving pretty fast there, you've got people from all religions, defending their own religion, and sometimes just bashing others' religions. Lots of name calling, some intelligent conversations. Hard to find those these days.
I've seen several boards posted by devout religious people.
And at every one I wonder "Is this guy for real?"
Are they playing a practical joke? Pretending to be a religious fanatic for our entertainment? They can't seriously believe what they are saying!

okay, i haven't seen this movie yet [cuz my parents won't let me!!! lol], but i heared them talking about it nd i've read about it on the net and GOD!!, anyone who likes this movie is going against jesus!!!!

whatever. i just kno that i'm a child of jesus thats not gonna burn like all you sinners. i'm really glad my parents warned me not to see this. so i'm warning all of you! DONT GO AGAINST THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRISt. if you know what's good for you! jesus hates sinners!
People are just stupid. Accept that there are religions other than your own. You know what? It doesn't concern you.
Let's say Christianity, Catholicism, whatever, is true, god is real, Jesus is real, it's all real. The people who don't believe, they can just go to hell. It's done, they've gotten what they deserve. They chose the life the chose, it was their decision to not follow your god. And they were wrong. You know, it's just too bad for them. Like I said, it's not your problem. You get to go to heaven and walk with Jesus. Don't worry about the people who don't believe, they don't matter.
I accept that other people are religious. I accept that some people are not religious. I don't want the overly religious people trying to save me. I have chosen to not choose, and I'm sorry if that bothers them. I don't want to bother you, but you really shouldn't be worrying about me.
