We are now in Virginia. Our last hotel wasn’t that good, so we decided to switch. You had to pay for the internet (and for only 24 hours), the room was tiny, the view… well, you couldn’t even call it a view. And it was an expensive hotel! The one we’re in now has free internet, a much bigger room, and a nicer view.

Today was another driving day. We stopped at TJ Max but I didn’t find anything. I got a new bathing suit at Wal-Mart, but it’s not really a nice bathing suit. I mean, a few years ago I found a bunch of bathing suits I liked. Now I had to look through everything several times to find something reasonable! And everything is so TINY! My god.

Anyway… there’s really not much to tell. The other day my brother got The Wall on DVD so we watched that. Well, actually, I watched it and listened to the Hollies. It seemed to be a pretty strange movie, but listening to the Hollies at the same time… well, that was disturbing as well.

Ohh, wait. I didn’t end up saying what happened in Washington!

Well, it was BLOODY HOT the WHOLE TIME! We walked over to the White House and took pictures. We couldn’t get a tour or anything, there was this dude that said you had to book them like five months in advance! So it wasn’t really exciting there. It’s a building, okay.

We walked down to the Smithsonian Museum of American History. We kinda just walked through and didn’t really read any of the stuff. I would’ve liked to read more about the presidents and stuff because I know about them from history, but no one else seemed to really want to look. We saw Fonzie’s jacket and Archie Bunker’s chair, but we couldn’t sit in it and brush up on the ol’ Constitution. Oh well. And we saw Oscar the Grouch and The Swedish Chef and other muppet dudes.

Then we went to the Natural History or something museum which was right next door, so that was nice. Didn’t have to walk far in that heat. It had all these animal skeletons, and that was freaky. There were like HUUUUGE snakes and fish and elephants and tiny frogs and rabbits and stuff. Then there were a bunch of rocks and minerals and some were quite pretty. And there was the Hope Diamond. Everyone seemed really excited about that, but I mean, it’s just a little rock.

But it was good, all the Smithsonian Museums are free to visit, so that was nice.

We saw the Washington Monument as well, but didn’t go up too close. We were pretty tired, so we didn’t want to walk around much after the Smithsonian.

For dinner, we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe. They didn’t have any of The Who’s instruments, so that kinda sucked, but they had a lot of other stuff. And you can take pictures! I’ll have to post some later. They had these cool stained glass windows that I know some people would like… Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, and Jerry Lee Lewis. I took a picture for you, Jada, heh heh. Speaking of Jerry, I also saw a poster at this store with all these rock stars on it, and Jerry was like right there in the middle on his piano!

But yeah. I think that’s about it. We’ve been having McDonalds for breakfast like every day. Cor.

So tomorrow we’ll be on the road again, I think next we end up at Virginia Beach or Norfolk or wherever. Pretty cool.
