Did my English exam yesterday. It started at 12:30 (earlier than most exams) and I left at… 3:30. Ha ha. Well, it was a whole essay.
We had two choices for our question. The teacher told us it was about "revenge and Hamlet with no underline", meaning the character Hamlet and not the play "Hamlet". Since that was all we knew, it was hard to study for. I just looked up "hamlet revenge" on Google and just read, made notes on pages with quotes about revenge. That's all you can really do for those types of exams.
Anyway, I saw the paper with the two essay choices and go "WTF, neither of these are about revenge!". So I was a little freaked out. One girl even asked "didn't you say it was about revenge?", and then the teacher said something about applying that to one of the topics.
I ended up writing about how Hamlet is a reflection of human nature, the positive (morals, conscience) and negative ("I am proud, revengeful, and ambitious") aspects. I've always hated concluding paragraphs, but lately I've came up with some good ones. If the teacher just based the mark on our final sentence, I think I would do pretty good. "By presenting Hamlet as a reflection of human nature, Shakespeare has created a universal story with a message that is still applicable today". Or something like that. Sounds smart, huh? Well, I think it does. Kind of lame, but so are all my concluding sentences.
Anyway, I actually finished at about 3:00, then spent half an hour erasing all the notes in my book and then helping Jada with hers.
So then I called my house to see if my dad or someone could give me a drive, but only my brother was home, and he said he'd just called my mom at work to say I wasn't home yet, and my mom called my friend's mom (…and they tell two friends, and they tell two friends…) and and and…
Today I had my French exam, which was a bit easier. I think I did pretty good. I noticed a lot of the little compulsory "tricks" in each section, so I think that's a good thing. Yeah, good strategy, always look for the tricks. It is never ever always completely straight-forward.
But yep. Math tomorrow, and I should be studying for that, but I keep putting it off. Arrrgh.
No. Study. Now.
