Good good news, we've got a vote

Had my Entrepreneurship exam this morning. Super easy, just fixed up my website which suddenly stopped working on Friday, handed it in, and answered questions about my site. About halfway through that class, I stopped taking it seriously, and I still got perfect on everything I handed in.

There was my wonderful answer for a question about whether you would want to find out more information on a restaurant, and I said "no because I don't like soup".

There was the assignment where we had to answer questions about our "obituary". For "never managed to" I put "complete this questi". For "will be best remembered for" I put "being unmemorable".

Today for the website questions I put a few bullshit answers, though my favourite was the last which asked you to give yourself a mark out of 100. I said "99, because no one is perfect".

At lunch I went down to guidance and found that I had a schedule conflict for next year. No surprise there. There were already a ton of people waiting, so I stood around for a bit, and then they decided to give us all numbers. I got number 4, and after awhile, number 1, 2, and 3 were all called. I decided to go eat lunch and come back. And my number still hadn't been called. Of course, they did already have ten to twenty people in there before number 1, so understandable. I came back again before my exam and my number still hadn't been called.

About five minutes before the afternoon exam, me and some of my friends decide to go see if Jada was still waiting at guidance to laugh at her. We ended up meeting her in the hall, where she informed us that someone had a smoke bomb in the other hallway, so we started walking in the opposite direction. Soon after, the smoke alarm went off.

Went outside, kicked out of the driveway, kicked off the grass, onto the sidewalk, firetruck arrived. At about two minutes after the supposed exam start time, we went back in and had ten minutes to get to our class.

So, Individuals exam now. I'd been studying for it most of the day and some of last night. All multiple choice, so quite easy. I'm pretty sure I did well on the first half, but after that, there were a few questions I guessed on. Understandable since I had only read the first and second chapters that we were supposed to be studying. Overall though, think I did pretty darn good. Could've stuck around afterwards to get my mark, but I had things to do, places to go!

Guidance, that is. Luckily my Individuals class is right near the guidance office, so I zipped down there and was first in line to resolve my conflict.

Apparently my Geomatics and World History courses were at the same time, so I had to drop one, and I chose World History. Ended up that I actually couldn't take either because Yearbook was also scheduled in that time slot for both semesters, since it's an all-year course.

So, those were both out. My guidance counselor told me that my Computer Science and Writer's Craft courses would also have a conflict eventually, so I had to pick one of those, and it was obviously computers. So now I'm down three 4U/M courses, which are the only ones that count towards university.

Basically, my schedule is now:

Spare
4U Law
4M Business
3M Yearbook

4M Photography
4M Computer Science
4M Communications
3M Yearbook

The spare is only there because there were like no courses whatsoever available. Would rather not have a spare, but, so be it.

I think my law was supposed to be 3U, since I don't have the prerequisite, but I'm hoping it actually is 4U. I'd really rather drop the business course, because I don't really like the teacher who's teaching it, but, then again, it will be a super easy 100%. :)

Second semester is pretty much my dream semester. And I'm technically also supposed to not be able to take Photography, but my consellor said there's going to be a new head of the art department and she'll see if I can get special permission to take it, since I'm a returning student and also taking Yearbook (which I'm also technically not allowed to take without art, but I think I've been over that already).

Then Communications, my all time favourite class, and Computer Science, my second all time favourite class! Even those two in one semester would be perfect, but photography and yearbook? I love it. Nice way to end my high school career.

So. Another matter that came up today was that of uniforms.

As I took my stroll down to guidance to check if my name was on the list, I noticed the uniforms were in fact on display in the display case. Let me just say this: ugly. Also, they look itchy. Basically, there are three shirts, one in red, black, and white. Didn't see any pants though, which doesn't make any sense. I thought one of the "arguments" for uniforms was that it wouldn't allow people to wear baggy clothing to hide weapons in? And also, aren't kids always wearing their pants around their knees with their underwear sticking out? No mandatory pants doesn't solve that.

But, what made me incredibly happy was one little sign inside the display: "VOTE YES".

"Vote yes"? That means there's a vote! That means I have a say! As does every other student in the school!

Well, assuming they allow us to vote. Which they DAMN WELL SHOULD!

I'm also prepared to face many obstacles on my way to the polls. I'm aware of the blockades that shall be set up, and the poorly constructed survey with a size 36 "YES" and size 8 "no".

They've made it much easier for me. All I need to do now is convince kids to vote. And also to find out when voting actually occurs, which I have a feeling is not going to publicized.

Stopping by the display case later, I saw something that made me even happier: two signs on the outside of the case saying "VOTE NO!". :) All three signs were taken down by the end of the day, though.

Oh yeah. It's on.

You know what was playing on the radio this morning? "Something in the Air" by Thunderclap Newman! I took it as a sign. The revolution's here. We've got to get it together… now!
