A little poking around on my school's website revealed a link to the school council's website, where I then found meeting minutes, in which a recent one included this quote:
In regards to the new policy regarding 80% parent support for implementation of the uniform, it was decided that we would send out another questionnaire over the summer. It will be included with the form students must fill out and get signed, updating school records, in order to get their timetables.
What am I going to do? 80%?
Obviously the parents are going to say yes. Obviously the school isn't going to tell the parents that uniforms don't have any real positive effects. I saw one page on the school board website about uniforms listing all the positives and nothing about the arguments against it.
CEN. SOR. SHIP!
Also, why ask the parents? The STUDENTS are the ones wearing the uniforms, the STUDENTS should have a say in it!
My school's MySpace page reveals that many students are actually indifferent to the issue. Which is a big problem. They have succeeded in brainwashing us.
But geez. What am I going to do? I am NOT wearing a uniform. If I have to fight for an opt-out, I will. But I'd really prefer that the whole school stays uniform free, and not just myself. It's not about me. It's about… freedom for Harry Potter's sake!
I need to put together some sort of package… send it around to all the Facebooks and MySpaces and whatnot. Need to alert the students and parents to what they are getting into.
How am I going to do this? I'm just one girl! What can I do? I need your help help help…

After hearing boos at the mention of 'rock and roll' and then hearing death metal referred to as 'rock and roll' at my school fundraising concert, I'm in a similar mood except possibly more pissed off.
I suggest something like 'I support freedom in speech, actions and the clothes you wear! If you agree, put this on your profile!'
Except with worse grammar.
