Last Thursday was the prom, and I'm sure I've complained about that long ago, so I won't go into details about why I didn't go.

Heather, Jada, Alison, Jennifer, Alex, and I all met up at Alex's house to go to Niagara Falls afterwards. Originally, it was supposed to be a big group of us in either a huge limo or two smaller limos, but the other kids went and booked their own limo, and ended up screwing themselves apparently. Drama, drama. One day someone would be going with us, the next, they would be expelled. True story.

Anyway, everyone minus me and Heather, who also didn't go to prom, arrived at Alex's house. Apparently they'd called another friend, Justine, while at the prom and invited her to go to Niagara Falls with us, but she hadn't arrived yet. We waited around for at least twenty minutes, but finally had to go, since we're paying for the limo and all. Another twenty minutes later and she still hadn't arrived, so Alex told us after phoning his house. Jennifer and Alison kept saying how they felt bad. And I mean, sure, sucks to be her. But I am not going to spend my night worrying about how she's at home crying when I, who was there on time, should be enjoying myself. And maybe that makes me a cold-hearted bitch, but it also makes me a cold-hearted bitch who enjoys it.

So, the limo ride there was fun, like the ride there always is, but nothing too exciting happened.

Then we got there. For certain reasons which are not to be discussed, Heather and I waited outside while everyone else checked in and went to the room, which was supposed to be on the second floor. After going to the second floor and looking around and not seeing any open door, or hearing any loud friends, we decided to check the third floor. Nothing, went back down. Went downstairs. Went back up. Finally called Jada who says they are on the fourth floor. Umm yeah, and how were you expecting us to find you? Pfft.

Anyway, we regrouped with our group and ended up sitting around until 1:00.

It was boring. B-O-R-I-N-G. Okay. So I don't like sitting down. So what?

Then finally someone suggested we go and wander, so I of course said yes. Only Jada and Jennifer wanted to go, so the other three stayed in the hotel. Heather, I think, was worried about getting stabbed. Quoth I, "you can't have any fun without risking getting stabbed".

We walked around for a bit and took pictures. There was an ice-cream shop with a big ice cream cone on the wall, so I suggested we take a picture that made it look like we were holding the cone, a la Man Kicking Leaning Tower of Pisa photo. While we were doing said pose and holding our hands in a cupping way up in the air, old man stops and asks flabbergastedly, "what are you doing?". Bwhaha.

Then we came along to the giant ferris wheel and went on. It was like $10, so overpriced, as everything is in Niagara Falls. I was rather surprised though, it went around three times! I was only expecting one, you know? So cool.

Then walked around a bit more, watched some people doing karaoke. There was some guy dancing really crazy like and we pretended to be taking pictures of each other while actually trying to get a picture of him.

So, back to the hotel we went. I think they said there was some woman with a kid who dumped an ice cream cone on her head? I don't know, I didn't see it. I did see the ice cream on the ground though. Heh heh.

After that, it was just more hanging around, doing nothing. Taking pictures. We went to sleep at around 2:30, I think. Alex was really nice and said he'd sleep on the chairs, since there were only the two beds and the pull-out couch. It was supposed to be Alison and Jada, and me and Heather, and Jennifer had her own bed, but the two Jens both ended up with their own beds, because the other three piled on to one and I guess just fell asleep.

I woke up sometime around 7:30, as did both Heather and Alison. They woke up Jen, but she went right back to sleep. Alex woke up, and they woke up Jada. The alarm was supposed to go of at 8:00, but the clock was set like 20 minutes early. When it did go off, it was tuned to a non-station, so it was just really loud static. Jen woke up, turned off the alarm, and flopped right back over to sleep again.

So, we all got dressed and everything, with some people taking more time than others. Pfft. Anyhoo, eventually we all got ready and went to Denny's, despite my suggestion the night before to get ice cream for breakfast. I mean, first of all, it's right across the street, and second of all, it's ice cream!

Denny's, breakfast, not too exciting. I had pancakes. I know you care.

Then we went and walked around — finally! Though, I mean, it's much cooler at night.

Went into a bunch of knick-knacky stores. Went to the wrestling store, since both Alison and Heather are fans. Went to the MGM, I think it was, store. Jada saw a James Dean magnet, the story of which goes way back, and Alex bought it for her, so that was nice. There was a director's slate there which I thought was cool, but I mean, for $10, I don't really need it. They also had fake Oscar awards that said things like "best mom" and stuff, and Alex bought one for his mom.

Various people wanted to do various things, like mini-golf, or haunted houses, or whatever, but we could never all agree, so we didn't end up actually doing any of that. I saw this "Rock Legends" museum which looked cool. It would've been better if we had the whole day, but half of the others had to go to work later. But not moi!

Went back to the hotel and played in the game room for a bit. I played pinball, and I was a lot better at it than I thought I was. I mean, still not a pinball wizard, but if I had one of those gadgets with the cork and all, boy oh boy. On the third ball though it got stuck, so I couldn't finish.

The limo driver arrived quite early, so we went up to the room and got our stuff together and we were on our way at exactly 11:30.

Ride home was a lot less exciting, since everyone was pretty tired. There was one eventful occasion though… heh heh heh…

So, I mean, we were in the limo. I don't know about you, but when I see a limo, I look at it and wonder who could be inside… I mean, come on, even though they're supposed to be on tour in Europe, The Who could've made a stop in Ontario…

Anyway, a car full of Asian guys pulls up beside us and are staring at us and the guy in the back is taking pictures! I started to get my phone out to get picture of them, but just so happened that my dad was calling at the same time. So I missed them.

A few minutes later though, we see them speed up out of nowhere and start taking pictures again! I got two shots of them, but my camera phone is pretty crappy.

So, soon enough, we were home. Time to relax. Finally.

And that's where my story of grad night ends. Considering the details were sketchy for a long time, it turned out really well.

On Sunday, I went to Dundas Valley with my parents and took more pictures. Then on Monday, we went to Tew's Falls, which is by Webster's Falls where we went awhile ago, and took more pictures. I'm working on a website to showcase all my beautiful artwork, so they'll be there soon.

Also on Monday, I decided it was time to try driving. I guess it was going on the Go-Karts at Wonderland that gave me the push. I mean, they weren't too bad. They were actually kind of fun, once you got going fast.

Needless to say, driving a real car, I wasn't allowed to go really fast. My dad took me out to the mall parking lot, where it was empty because it was a holiday for Canada Day (which is actually on the Sunday), and I just went around in circles for a long time. Steering is really strange. I keep turning it too much, because it doesn't turn quite as fast as I want it to. I'm also not very good at remembering to put on my seat belt. Gasp.

And I'm also not very good at depth perception. He had me drive up to a piece of garbage and see how close I could get without going over. The first time was over two metres, second times was one metre, and third time was just a little under one metre. When I was parking between the lines though, it was much better. I mean, looking at the shadow isn't cheating, right? And I mean, being on a major angle doesn't matter either, right?

I really wasn't expecting it, but I really enjoyed driving. Once I got out of the driving in circles in the little parking lot, I mean. In about two days, I went through my Driver's Book, which I've had since I turned 16, and it all seems pretty straightforward. I've picked up a lot just by watching people drive. I just don't like how you have to memorize like how many years you get for drunk driving, or how much someone has to weigh to not require a booster seat. Little stupid details that I don't really need to know, you know?

So I figure I'll read the book a few more times, go driving again this weekend, and hopefully take my G1 soon. Then I'll probably have real lessons afterwards, and if I "graduate" or whatever from there, I can take my G2 in March, and then the full G, well, whenever that happens. I don't know that far yet. But I'm quite looking forward to it. :)
