The revolution
So, we finally got the uniform survey last week. I've been busy. Fixing up my old uniform website, discussing on the Facebook group, that sort of stuff.
I still don't have a compelling reason why I'm against uniforms. What I've kind of been saying is that my reason is because all the stuff the school claims uniforms will fix — safety, discipline, school spirit, etc — doesn't actually happen.
If this was Wikipedia, we'd need a big [citation needed] all around their claims, because that's all they are — claims. No proof whatsoever. I on the other hand have proof on my website showing the negative effects of uniforms.
If I handed in their argument in English class, I would fail, because I didn't quote the source.
If I handed in their survey in Data Management class, I would fail, because it's biased.
So school, it's a "do as I teach, not as I do" sort of thing, then?
What I'm most disgusted about, still, is the people who say "it's not the end of the world, it's just a shirt" and "we can't do anything about it".
WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!?!?
WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT?
Seriously. If you don't think you can change anything in this world, then just go and kill yourself. Why bother living? I mean, you can't change anything.
*headdesk*
What is WRONG with you people!?!
And you know, yes, it's not the end of the world. It is just a shirt. You're right, you're right! But some people don't want to waste time and money on something that doesn't work.
Basically, uniforms are not the solution. We need a new solution. What that is, I don't know, and I feel bad about that. I would gladly join student council and help brainstorm something that could be done. Actually enforcing the current dress code is one solution, and an easy one.
I just don't know. I don't know why I even bother fighting for these people who just don't care.
I wanna save humanity, but it's people that I just can't stand.
