A new school year, how wonderful. Actually, I think I was about ready to go back to school. I mean, the last day, I was scrambling to get everything I hadn't finished done, so sure, another week or two would've been fine, too. :)
My schedule as it is now is spare, law, international business, and yearbook.
Spare is alright, since Jada and Jennifer both have it at the same time. It'll also come in handy to help avoid doing lugging my humongous law book home.
Law is alright. I've had the teacher before and he's good. When he put us in the alphabetical seating plan though, as he did the last two times I was in his class, I kind of felt, well, like a grade ten again. I mean, I'm past grade twelve, why do I have to sit in alphabetical order? Haven't we figured it out by now? And the reading paragraphs out loud was never my bag, but whatever, less for me to read on my own time.
Actually, I've been thinking that learning my rights and all would come in handy and stuff, so this class could be quite interesting. He also said that during the crime unit, we'll be in groups of four and we'll write and perform a script of a murder trial — how freaking cool is that? I could almost start writing one now… but I mean, he was like "yeah, it's like twenty five pages" and I'm like, well, crap, because I wanted to use Courier New size 10, which is kind of like standard, but I guess then it will be really really long, you know?
Anyway, next we have lunch, which is same as always, eat, talk, blah blah blah.
I have International Business with Jennifer and Jada again, which is good, because if I was alone I would kill myself. If you've read of my adventures in Entrepreneurship you'd understand why: it's the same teacher, same room, a lot of the same kids. You would think Entrepreneurship was the pre-requisite to this class, but I mean, it was a college course while this is a university/college one.
On the upside, I'll be able to get 100% no problem, which is basically why I came back an extra year (that is, to get the easy courses to boost my entrance average :)).
Today for Business we had study hall, and Michelle, who had spare at the time, informed me that she has Computer Science third period next semester… wait, hold up. I have Communications third period next semester. Computer Science was supposed to be second period.
What kind of SICK FUCK would schedule Communications and Computer Science in the same time slot?
Seriously! It's like scheduling the only Grade 9 Academic English and the only Grade 9 Academic Math at the same time, which obviously a lot of people will want to take both. And these two courses are like I said, the main reason I came back. These are my two freaking favourite classes and courses I can easily do well in… and now I can only pick one? WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THAT?!?
Sooo, it sounds like I'm going to have to hope I can do Computer Science by correspondence, or online, or night school, or something. I'm counting on this course to bring my average up! And also to learn more programming. I mean, how many students actually want to learn? Well, I do, and my right to learn from the courses of my choosing is being denied! Denied, I tells ya!
On the upside, I'll get to take Creative Writing, which would've been replaced by Computer Science. I mean, of course I'd rather take Computer Science, but Creative Writing will hopefully be fun, you know?
EDIT: Suh-weet! They have Computer Science e-Learning courses this semester and next, and it looks like I'm not too late to register! I shall get to take Computer Science and Creative Writing, so… helllll yes! I am happy.
Anyway, that brings us to yearbook. Yesterday we came to class and the teacher was talking with the vice-principal for a good fifteen minutes or so. The vice-principal leaves and the teacher turns to us and says, "well, we were just debating whether or not to cancel this class".
Great. Just great. This was the only class I was looking forward to this semester (though now law seems like it should be okay), and now it's going to be taken away?
We had a short discussion during the shortened period yesterday, going over how mistake-filled last year's yearbook was, and how two thirds of the class or something failed, and how you have to actually want to be in the class to do well. By the end of the period, we seemed to have convinced him that we're capable, and it sounds like he'll be keeping the class, so, awesome!
He made a comment yesterday that you really need to have the right type of personality to succeed in this class. One girl asked what type that was, and he said a few things, but mainly, you have to be able to do everything.
And I'm like, hello, that's me! I love doing everything! I just made a post not too long ago about how I'm apparently useless because I'm good at everything, but not great at one thing. So yearbook is apparently my calling. Helllll yes!
Today the teacher gives us each a copy of last year's yearbook and tells us to make a list of every mistake. I just finished my list not too long ago, and I've been working on it since I got home, as well as all during class. My final total was 227, but that was counting paragraphs where they forgot to put spaces after commas as one, and things like that. So really, 227 major mistakes, and a ton of other things I could nitpick as well, but chose not to. And this was mostly spelling and grammar, I hardly even touched the designs mistakes. I mean, any time someone sets a paper down in front of me, I immediately critique their choice of font, margins, bullet points… everything. So how cool was this?
When he first said what we were doing, my eyes must've seriously lit up. I love doing stuff like this. I love correcting people's mistakes. You are telling me to be harsh on these people, point out every little mistake? Hell yes!
It was an insanely sick pleasure partaking in this exercise. :)

Jenny you're so silly! It's a good thing that you're able to take computer sciences and creative writing :3 We'll have Creative writing and Yearbook together next semester! Guess I'll talk to you either later today (It's Friday by the way ummmm second period!) or whatever xD And if not then I'll just post another comment on your next blog posty thing :3 It's amazing how you can do entries in this every day O.o I would've lost interest… I mean I hardly ever even post journal entries on DeviantArt… >.
