Children between the ages of 10 and 16 spend about six hours a day in front of a screen. That is three times longer than the recommended daily screen time of two hours or less.
CTV.ca, "Kids spending more time in front of screens: report"
Granted, I'm not in the age range, but what am I expected to do the other seven plus hours of the day? That's not even including school, where oftentimes I am in front of a screen for more than two hours.
Kids can't go out and play anymore. They aren't allowed. They can't go running off to the park alone, because there are child molesters there. Playing in the backyard is only fun for so long.
And while yes, health is important, but so is learning. Some of us who spend all of those seven plus hours in front of screens are actually doing something worthwhile.
