Brevity

I've kind of exhausted everything I wanted to write about in my Creative Writing journal today. I don't much feel like writing about it there, and then telling my brother when I'm walking home, and then telling my dad when I get home, and then telling my mom when she gets home, and then writing it here again. Well, actually, that didn't happen today, but somedays it does.
I apparently have a penchant for brevity, so said the comments on my short story. "Unlike your classmates" it said — do I detect some weariness, there? When people were reading their stories in class, they just went on and on. So boring. My story however was only one page, five hundred words, which was the requirement.
And you know, when I think about it, yeah. I couldn't imagine writing an entire novel. A big long hunk o' thing, like "Harry Potter" or whatever. I could never do that! Hundreds upon hundreds of pages on one subject? Nuh-uh, no way! I finally finished "Catch-22". That was one long story. It was really great in the beginning, but it just went on and on and I didn't read it for so long. But I'm done, so now I can watch the terrible boring movie all the way through.
But yeah. I couldn't be a novelist, although I think that would be cool. I'd have to be a journalist or lyricist or you know, something like that. Where when you write, it's a one-off thing, you're done with it. You've got to get it all in at once, so you can't put any filler in. Yeah. That's for me.
Which also explains why I hate long songs. Songs with choruses repeated over and over, the same, without change. Long solos that don't really go anywhere. Boooring.
I'm also kinda disappointed, Blogathon for this year was canceled. I was really looking forward to it. I'd like to do it again on my own just to do it, you know? But last year would've been pretty boring near the end had I not listened to the Blogathon radio and lurked the chat room. I don't know if I'd want to do it myself.
We got the proof of the yearbook today! It looks pretty sweet. There were little things, edges cut off, a few spelling mistakes, stretched pictures, blurry pictures, but all that really didn't bother me. Surprisingly. It isn't overrun with spelling mistakes, which is good. I think there are maybe less than ten. Had I (ahem ahem) checked all the pages and had everyone listened to me when I told them what to correct, it would have been fine. But nooo.
DVD yearbook's also looking spiffy. Just have to throw a few more videos in tomorrow, add some music to the slideshows, and hope it burns.
Crap, it's eight already? I'm supposed to come up with something for my peer tutoring class tomorrow for reviewing le/la/les replacing a subject, but I don't know exactly what to do. I mean, it's not a terribly difficult concept. You can't really play a game with it, which is what they always want me to do. Ahhh, I don't know, I don't know.
I'm glad it's just about the weekend. Coding, lyricing, and Pokemon. Sweet.
