I was thinking earlier today about how people always dream about what they've done or seen the day previous. That happens to me a lot. What happens equally as often is that I dream of things that happen that very day.

There have been many such dreams, including one I had last night. The Rolling Stones were in it, which was strange, because they aren't a group I dream about particularly often. I haven't dreamt about any groups particularly lately. But last night, I did.

Today at lunch, I was reading my Eric Clapton book and he mentioned a party that some of the Stones were at. "Hey, what a coincidence!" I thought. Later today I was talking to my brother and I was cold, so he said "She's So Cold", which is the name of a Stones song. We then watched "Don't Forget the Lyrics" and one of the songs was "You're So Vain" and he mentioned that Mick Jagger sung backing vocals on the song (which, obviously, I already knew, duuuh). Then we watched "The Simpsons" and it was the episode where Milhouse's parents got back together, so he and Bart needed a plan to split them up. Bart gets an idea and he was like "Rocks? Shatter?" and something else, and at the same time, me and my brother notice the connection to the Stones. Rocks, like Stones (or "Hot Rocks", if you prefer). And "Shatter" like the song, "Shattered".

Now come on, how often do you have that many references to a specific band in one day?

"Okay", you say, "so maybe it's because you were looking for them". Maybe true, maybe not.

On Tuesday, I got a call from my good friend Jada, who wanted to know if I wanted to go to the park for the Canada Day festival. And as if that wasn't a cool enough way to spend the day, there would be a special guest there — the one and only Steve. How could I refuse?

After a short trip to my grandma's house, that I now realize was to blame for the numerous bug bites I'm now finding all over my body, I headed on down to the park where I met up with Jada and Jesse and Zac, and where Jon eventually joined us. Ah, almost like New York all over again.

We spent quite some time walking back and forth across the park, eating, and text messaging Steve, trying to tell him how to get somewhere that we didn't know how to get to really at all. But eventually, he showed up. We instructed him to come to that big huge honkin' bandstand in the middle of the park, but it appeared to us that he couldn't see it. And so, I was entrusted with calling him. He told me he was still at the Free Bible Teaching booth and wanted us to come down and get him. I warned him that my group probably wouldn't want to go walking around since they were eating, but upon hanging up and telling them that he was arguing with the guy about what seemed to me to be whether God wrote the Bible or not, they were pretty keen to go watch the debate-erific action.

So, off we took across the park. We spotted a tall dark haired guy with a yellow shirt — that must be our Steve. And of course, 'twas. The man at the booth let him go, but not after telling the rest of us that Steve wanted us to all go to church and handing us pamphlets to enforce this message.

'Twould not be the only pamphlet of the day. Steve and I visited the Falun Dafa booth because there were some intriguing old Chinese ladies doing some interesting poses there. We stood around this big flower mat on the ground and did this yoga-y-ish thing, which was supposed to bring us good luck. Considering my email about residence, I think I'm going to have to keep doing that. (Of course, considering my current being-in-summer-school situation, maybe not.)

The rest of the day mainly consisted of talking and walking back and forth across the park. We walked down to the makeshift amusement park, trying to decide which ride to go on, and then realized we should go back down to the other side of the park to the fountain to take a "Friends"-esque picture. By the time we got to the fountain we found that it was turned off, so we walked all the way back to the Ferris Wheel, which we found had an uber long lineup and thus decided not to go on. There was much more merriment the rest of the day, with picture taking and playgrounding and not karaokeing.

Anyway, today when I went to post about my Rolling Stones dream on my dream blog, I looked back at my last entry, about a week and a half ago: Virtual reality and the world festival. "Hmm, that's strange, I don't remember dreaming about a world festival. What was I talking about?". Re-reading the dream I found that it all coming back to me now. This dream festival had booths of different countries around the world.

And do you know what the theme of the actual Canada Day festival was? Do you know what kinds of foods were available to us at each of the booths? It was a multicultural festival! Each booth declared its country: "GREEK"! one sign screamed. "GERMANIA"! said another. "BOSNIAN WAFFLES"! cried yet another.

Pop quiz time. Do you remember where I went before the Canada Day festival?

I'll give you one guess where I was in that dream before I ended up with Jada (and four guys (!!!)) at the festival.

You need to write more about this 'Steve' person.
