I’ve already been through this a bit. I saw her video, I think for “Poker Face”, on MuchMusic when it first came out. I thought it was ridiculous and she had a stupid name.

I saw the video for “Telephone” on YouTube (actually, on Vevo, before they had a YouTube channel!), and thought it was great. Proceeded to watch the videos and fall in love with the songs for “Bad Romance”, “Just Dance”, “Poker Face”, “Papparazzi”, and “Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)”. I thought she was great. Catchy pops songs. Wacky music videos. Performance art. And she can actually play instruments and sing without using robots. Cool.

Then she released “Alejandro” and I was like “ehhh”. Not my style. And the music video was even less my style.

Then she released “Born This Way” and it was the same story. Didn’t like the song, didn’t like the video.

I haven’t even listened to “Judas” all the way through because, well, I have no desire to after listening to the first 30 seconds.

I’ve watched the last few of her “Gagavision” videos. One where a religious dude is at her concert protesting and she confronts him and he doesn’t really know what to say — but neither does she. (Also, hilariously, she says she went to Catholic school for ten years and he’s like “well that’s the problem, you were raised in a screwy religion!”. And I’m like, wow. When I think “screwy religion”, I think Scientology. I don’t really know the difference between Catholicism and Christianity, but from what I have heard, they are basically the same with Catholics more into hating women.) Anyway, that video totally didn’t make me think “wow, she’s smart and shit”. In fact, the opposite.

And then, she says in her next video, she designed the Judas cover herself in Microsoft Word. No no, wait, she says she “graphic designed” it. Okay. I don’t even care that you used Microsoft Word (at least you’re not a Mac person). Also, I think the cover looks good (only when it’s pink, not red, though). She apparently took a picture of it on her laptop with her phone to give it texture. The “texture” makes it. You can see a bit of her reflection in it. Cool.

But “graphic design” is not a verb!

Also, the “Born This Way” album cover, the motorbike one, is terrible. The bike part, fine; the text, no. Let’s just not go there.

So yeah, the “graphic designed” thing pissed me off. And now I hear she has turned down Weird Al. That’s the whole story from Weird Al there, and the story makes it even worse than her just saying “no parody”. She makes him record the whole parody, and then says no parody? Ridiculous.

So, Lady Gaga. You made some good music and some good videos. Now you’re taking yourself too seriously and you’re just too spacey and not nearly as intelligent as you make yourself out to be. So, like… I’m not going to listen to you any more. kthxbai.
