Save the World

Not too long ago I went to David Suzuki's "If You were Prime Minister…" tour. It was inspiring.  Juno nominated Sarah Harmer played some songs, (including a Neil Young one, yeah!)  but my favourite would have had to have been Escarpment Blues.  Then for David Suzuki.  He is an awesome public speaker and I would recommend that anyone who gets the chance to see him to go.  It was so informative too.   One thing that I've been telling everybody about is David Suzuki's Nature Challenge.  It's a list of ten things that anyone can do to help the environment.  They're so easy too.  Everyone should be able to do at least three.  I believe Dr Suzuki said his goal was a million people to sign up, to send a message to Ottawa.  Here's the link: http://www.davidsuzuki.org/NatureChallenge/ Quite a few people have signed up already, I mean they are so easy to do!  Take a look around the rest of the site too,  the environment is an important issue that needs our attention now people.

The Best Clive Davis Photos Ever…

Friday, February 16, 2007 - 6:23 PM

Ohhh… I 'm starting to go on ebay again.  Makes me want to buy stuff.  I found so much cheap James Dean stuff… and an ex-wife of Jerry Lee Lewis is selling some of her clothes.  Oh the excitment.  Had a math chapter test… it seemed a little too easy to me… hmmm..  This Sunday is the series finale of Reba, aww how sad.  Oh and I picked my grad quote.. heh heh kinda different than what I started off with.  Getting closer to seeing David Suzuki.

Holy Cow Batman!

Wow snow.  Soo much snow.  I love it.  Two days home from school.  I hope there is no school tomorrow but I doubt it, they have all night to plow the roads.  I love when they inform us of snowdays the day before, get to sleep in man.  I hope theres no school Friday.  Its a PD Day for a lot of schools, but for me it is a math test. :( Yesterday I was looking for a grad quote.  James Dean says a lot of good stuff, but its often over-used.  I could take some lyrics from high school confidental or something but I dunno.  I wanted a quote from someone I actually know, but I doubt that that will happen.  I found one quote that I thought was pretty good and related to me, but there are two different people who are quoted saying it and people write it differently, an ellipsis here, a have there.  Man.  Still have a day to figure it out though.  I suppose it actually isn't that important.  Oh ya, about this snowday, today was Valentines Day.. aww school is just so much funner on a holiday.  A snowday is better, but I guess they'll just postpone their activities.. if any?  I think all there is is delivering all those things you could buy people and the auctioning off members of the BAC to be your slave boys.  yeah…

You stole my culture!

Had another pop quiz in math today.  It's Monday man.  Oh Monday.  I bought a cane on the weekend for my photography class.  It's funny how you can't remember a thing but then you get into that dark room and it all comes flooding back.  To get us back into the swing of things we had to make an example of a good and a bad photo.  For our bad ones one kid and I threw our pictures in a corner and stepped on them to get them dusty.  It worked a little too well.  My sister and this one kid in a house near us have the strangest luck.  They don't know each other nor have they ever spoken, but it seems every time they go to the window, the other one has just decided to come gaze out the window as well.  Then they awkwardly turn away like they didn't notice one another.  We should make a little sign that says hello.  I remember when there used to be a field there.  Ahh yes the field.  Almost David Suzuki  and Sarah Harmer time. Yea.

What's the dress code?

I got tickets to see David Suzuki and Sarah Harmer.  That should be pretty interesting.  My classes are pretty good this semester.  I love having a spare and I actually totally understand the math.  Our first assignment for photography is to get some song lyrics and take a picture for them.  There was an exmaple for a Pink Floyd song… Learning to Fly.  Awesome.  I have some ideas but I would kind of need some props or someone who will let me write on their face.  yea.  I'll keep looking.  It's so cold for photographing outside, I remember the pinhole cameras.  That was in winter.  Aw, grade 11 photography was so much fun.  Now I must go get ready for Affinity, was going on Valentine's Day but we decided to go today.. why? I don't know.

February 3rd- The Day The Music Died

These papers are of no use to me now…

Tuesday, January 23, 2007 - 7:45 PM

Tomorrow is my geomatics exam.  I would say that I'm quite ready.  I had my french one today and my english one before that.  I never have to take another french class again, it is done, complete, fini.  Actually, I didn't Have to take that french class but anyways…I did.  I was sort of sad that these classes were ending but now I'm just like awesome, good riddance.  Its going to be weird starting new classes, it always feels as though its September again.  But at least I have photography, yea!  That class is so fun.  I hate the one room though.  I seem to have forgotten what it is called, oh well I'll figure it out soon enough.  Man, what was it though? not the loading room, not the dark room.  Ah well, the one with the chemicals in it.  Have to study more for my art exam.  So much history…  Apparently there used to be a time where if you were doing awesome in your classes you didn't have to write an exam. oh.  So almost my week off.  woo!

WE could have met Peter Frampton

Thursday, January 18, 2007 - 9:39 PM

Tomorrow is basically the last day before exams.  I have a lot to do still. Lots of studying especially.  Then I shall have a week off to recuperate.  English is my first exam.  Then french.  I'm going to go study for french after I finish on here.  I was just working on one of my art essays.  Fun.  Today I was watching ellen and she was congratulated on her oscar, which she wasn't really nominated for, but anyways she got out her speech she had prepared in 1978 and thanked peter frampton saying "i love you peter frampton" and she also thanked the bee gees.  I was like what?  I was reading the paper at the same time and totally missed which movie she was supposedly in but i'd assume it was sgt. peppers.  My sister came running up and was like were you watching ellen? and i was like yes!, yes I was! but we both weren't completely paying attention before she said Peter Frampton.  So was she talking about Sgt Peppers? I would sure hope so.  I think she thanked someone else too, but as i said a few times, i wasn't listening. Sgt Peppers came out 1978 too by the way.  wow.  I wish I had been paying attention.  In mine and Jenny's Sgt Peppers I say that I love Peter Frampton too.  But I was in the middle of a park jumping on a bench with a peter frampton sign.  ahem. moving on, i shall conclude that peter frampton should come back and have another meet and greet after the concert just like last time because Jenny and I so knew he was coming and probably could have got front row if we had truly loved him when he came.  But we totally love him now.  so yes, come back.

Its a beautiful day in the neighbourhood

Tuesday, January 16, 2007 - 5:27 PM

So yesterday was a snowday, rock on.  All the trees look so pretty now covered in ice.  Today I went to the library at lunch to look at past exams in the vertical files and came across old school newspapers.  Yes there was a time when our school had spirit and wrote a newspaper.  I had dragged Jenny along with me and we started reading the ones from the 60s and 70s.  I must say they were quite awesome.  There were reviews about tv shows such as The Brady Bunch and The New Price is Right.  There were also advertisements and kids selling stuff.  There were 8-tracks and records to be won and don't forget today's fashions.  I thought it was hillarious especially this one comic about someone and his best friend trying to cross the border and his best friend turns out to be LSD.  wow… they would never allow that in today's school paper… if we had one.  I mean someone with authority made the library paint their beautiful Hobbit mural beige because it apparently suggested that the Hobbits were using drugs.  That mural was actually done in the 70s and I guess it kind of did… but they could of edited the mural a bit.  The wall now is just so boring… and plain.Ya, so it appears there was a time when school was really, truly "fun".  Yes, I remember fun.
